Meet the Editor
Hello I’m Izzy! I am just another person with a bag of oats and seeds, trying to grow and collect beautiful things. I am an illustrator and comic artist based in New York. I have an MFA in Illustration from SUNY FIT and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College. I love the moon, autumn, hot chocolate and I have been switching between the same three bags for the last five years. This is a volunteer operation that I run out of my drafty bedroom in NYC. The name of this magazine was born from the idea of Ursula K. Le Guin’s essay, ‘The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction’ in which she discusses different forms of story telling, specifically storytelling that fall outside of famous Hero’s Journey. A wonderful little quote inspired me specifically, “I said it was hard to make a gripping tale of how we wrested the wild oats from their husks, I didn’t say it was impossible.” Any extra support is appreciated so if you have a few bucks to spare please click Donate, if you cannot donate at this time please leave a comment, a like, a share, tell a friend, a loved one, read, and enjoy: it means the world.
